The pages you're reading now set no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies we use are the ones that keep you signed in to the tool.
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Locatio's public marketing pages (the ones on locatio.uk) don't set advertising, marketing or third-party tracking cookies at all. The only cookies we set are the strictly necessary ones that keep you securely signed in when you use the interactive tool. One optional feature — Google's interactive Street View viewer — can set Google's own cookies, but only if you choose to open it (see below). We don't sell your data, and no area can pay to rank higher.
When you sign in to the Locatio tool, our authentication provider (Clerk) sets essential cookies to keep your session secure and remember that you're logged in. These are required for the service to function — without them you couldn't stay signed in — and under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they don't require consent.
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, EU-hosted service, to see how the site is used and improve it. It sets no cookies, measures aggregate statistics that do not identify you, is never combined with advertising, and processes data only on our behalf, never for its own purposes. Under the UK Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, analytics used solely for these statistical purposes does not require opt-in consent — but you can object at any time (see "Your choices" below).
Inside the tool, a postcode's detail pane can show a small Street View preview image loaded from Google — that image sets no cookies. If you choose to press "Open Street View", the interactive viewer loads from Google, and Google may then set its own cookies and process your use of the viewer under its own terms and privacy policy — the tool tells you this at the point of the click. Nothing interactive loads from Google and no Google cookies are set unless you open it. If you'd rather not, simply don't open the viewer — every score and figure works without it.
We don't use advertising or marketing cookies, ad-network pixels, or cross-site tracking, and we don't build profiles of you for advertising. Our business is scoring places from public data — not selling your attention.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or remove them and tell you when one is set. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop you signing in to the tool. You can switch analytics off for this browser using the button below, or object at any time by emailing us at hello@locatio.uk.
This switch is per-browser and per-device, and covers the pages on locatio.uk. The signed-in tool at app.locatio.uk is a separate address — if you would like your use of the tool excluded too, just email us.
